The 2024 Wuxi High-tech Zone (Hungary) Economic and Trade Exchange Conference was held in Budapest.

On June 1st, the “2024 Wuxi High-tech Zone (Hungary) Economic and Trade Exchange Conference” was held at the China International Investment Promotion Agency (Europe). Multiple Chinese and Hungarian government bodies, institutions, and enterprises, including the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, Wuxi High-tech Zone Administrative Committee, Hungarian-Chinese New Investment Association, and Market Construction Company, participated in the event.

Chen Yiwei, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary, pointed out that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Hungary relations have maintained high-level development, yielding fruitful results in economic and trade cooperation. The China-proposed “Belt and Road” initiative and Hungary’s “Opening to the East” strategy are closely aligned, fostering dynamic and practical cooperation between the two nations. Wuxi High-tech Zone, as Wuxi’s window to the world, has significant potential for cooperation with Hungary. This exchange activity can further enhance policy exchanges and project cooperation, creating new highlights in local collaboration.

Hua Yanhong, Deputy Director of the Wuxi High-tech Zone Administrative Committee and Deputy District Head of Xinwu District, Wuxi, noted that Wuxi, with its long history, developed economy, and beautiful environment, perfectly blends classical and modern styles, tranquility and prosperity, nature and culture, much like Budapest. The Wuxi High-tech Zone is the city’s most economically powerful, technologically innovative, and open area, making it one of China’s core areas for frequent exchanges and fruitful cooperation with Europe. The Wuxi High-tech Zone values economic and trade cooperation with Hungary and adheres to the philosophy of “no difficulty, meticulous service,” facilitating Hungarian companies like Semilab to establish themselves and providing a platform for local enterprises to invest in Hungary. It will further promote coordinated development of two-way investment and encourage more cooperation between Chinese and Hungarian enterprises.

During the conference, the China International Investment Promotion Agency (Europe) invited Hungarian enterprises and institutions to participate in the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade and to explore investment and trade opportunities in Chinese industrial parks and companies. The Hungarian-Chinese New Investment Association and Market Construction Company discussed providing comprehensive and convenient services to promote Chinese enterprises’ investment in Hungary.
